What is the history to your taking up Music ? How did it come into being...your journey? "Well music is all around us, on the TV, on the radio, even on the streets. I was always captivated by the sounds around me. The journey for me started seriously, when I first heard a few bands that used to broadcast on my local cable channel (I still find it hard to digest!). They used to play bands like Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, all the big names. My hero was Jon Bon Jovi, I would make excuses to my mother so I could play truant and to watch my hero slay the arena. I was 9 at th e time. I was 13 when my parents bought me my first guitar. Always a shy, introvert kid, not having very many friends, playing an instrument made a very serious impact on my personality, I grew both personally and spiritually. Growing up, trying to be a guitar player, I admired the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, Vinnie Moore, Paul Gilbert and several other greats. I imbibed several

#localturnon: What is the history of the band – how did it come into being, members, its journey (in brief) and what does the name of your band signify? #thebangaloremen: The Bangalore Men was formed in January 20 16 , and what all unites us is that we have a love for western classical choir music, and feel a responsibility to promote that music and to guard the heritage it carries. When we started off, we were 9 members, now we are 16 guys, all very passionate about the art form we represent! #localturnon: What is the history to your taking up Music? How did it come into being, your journey? #NimishaDeb: So my mom n nani, they are very good singers and they also wanted me to become a singer. Everyday me and my mom used to practice together. She used to suggest me the songs and I used to learn it so since the age of 3, I started learning music and I am a dancer too . I learned Kathak and Western dance from Jabalpur-my home town. I did my schooling from there and completed my graduation from Pune, post which I shifted to Mumbai for music. I was a part of X-FACTOR (Sony channel) , was in top 3 mood Indigo (IIT Powai), opened for Mohit chauhan, play-backed in a Marathi movie, won many competitions in all over India, got scholarship at Sajid wajid academy .
